San Juan is near the splendid beach of San Juan, equipped with magnificent facilities and at only 7 kilometers of distance of Alicante. The beach of San Juan is separated of the Albufereta by the Cabo of the Huertas, a great rocky formation where are small coves. The last years this beach has developed an incredible city-planning growth, flanked by modern facilities and restaurants of quality, where it is possible to be enjoyed the typical specialties of the alicantina kitchen. The monumental section is represented by the parochial church of San Juan Baptist, temple reconstructed in century XVI. Although this it is the most outstanding temple, San Juan counts on other interesting constructions of religious art scattered. It is the case of the hermitage of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fabraquer, of year 1703, the hermitage of Santa Ana, the year 1697 and the one of San Roque, which dates from century XVI. The Bonfires of San Juan are the most important celebration of the province, begin day 20 to the 29 of June. The primitive root of the celebration is centered in which the light does not disappear in the longest day of the year, replacing with the fire the sun so that this one does not die.
